Learn Needlepoint Stitches: The Beetle Stitch

Beetle Stitch is a great focal point stitch. It is a fairly busy stitch, so use it somewhere you want to draw attention to, or somewhere you have a nice big area of canvas to really show it off. Read this blog to learn more!
The Beetle Needlepoint Stitch is a lesser known stitch, but a very fun one to add to your repertoire. You can see it in the photo above on Santa’s Car.


Beetle Stitch is made up of two horizontal stitches over two canvas threads, surrounding three horizontal stitches over four canvas threads. It looks a little bit like an oval “beetle” which is how it got its name. Take a look at the diagram below.
